But even my almost 2 year old can play the cd s, which is so cool to her. Great for travel. I increased my star ratings My kids enjoy this b/c they can control it on their own more easily than their CD player, and take it in the car etc. But it only plays tunes, not words, which I didn't realize. And you can barely recognize the tunes, they play very quickly, b/c all the music is stored on the player . basically, it's like one of those books that play songs in terms of sound quality (actually, not as nice as my princess book but it has more songs than the book). but my girls are into it for now, I doubt it will last that long (girls ages 6, 4, almost 2). definitely not worth any more than the $14 i paid for it at target
